A Review of Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Reinforced Concrete Composite Column Members Modelling and Analysis Techniques

The use of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) to confine concrete columns improves the strength and ductility by reducing passive lateral confinement pressure. Many numerical analytical formulations have been proposed in literature describe compressive behaviour FRP confined under both monotonic cyclic loads. However, effect a stress/strain level has not well defined because lack well-defined strategies modelling oversimplification model. This paper reviews existing combinations available methods determine effectiveness adopted method. An effort made examine usage materials column applications building regimes highlights possible future scopes improve civil applications.
